BLOCKAGE AT THE LEVEL OF PUNCTUM OF LACRIMAL SAC.
CT DACRYOCYSTOGRAPHY
Clinical information: Past h/o trauma. Watery discharge from left eye.
- CT DACRYOCYSTOGRAPHY was performed by topical instillation of CT contrast medium in both eyes.
- One drop was instilled in each eye every one minute for five minutes.
- This is a non-invasive procedure as compared to the conventional dacryocystography.
Findings:
- No evidence of passage of contrast material in left lacrimal sac.
- Findings likely represent blockage at the level of punctum on left side.
- Contrast material passes through the right lacrimal canaliculi in the lacrimal sac and is seen to opacify the naso-lacrimal duct which appears to be patent.
